How do I find a playgroup?

Go ahead and put in your zip code or postal code and search for a playgroup in your area. You’ll get a big list. If you see playgroups in red at the top, those are the ones you can apply to join as they are using our online organizer tools. Otherwise, you’ll see a list of playgroups and classes in your area.
 

How to I Start using Mommy & Me’s playgroup organizer tools?

First you need to register, after that, click start your own playgroup. It’s as simple as that. Follow the instructions. It’s very easy to set up. Go ahead and pick a name, upload an image or logo, start adding events, invite other people to join. You can even customize the background color.
 

I have an affiliate marketing account. Can I use that here to promote to my playgroup members?

Absolutely.  Everyone can use a little extra cash. Or maybe your group wants to have a place it can buy things from and the money you make gets donated back to playgroup events.  That’s why affiliate marketing is so brilliant.We put a spot in your playgroup area just for you.
Do you have a share-a-sale account? Or did you have T-shirts for your group made up using Zazzle and have a storefront? Great, put the code in this box and your members will be able to click on it. Put as many as you like, after one or two, it will just start to scroll.
 

How do I join a playgroup that I see in the playgroup finder?

Click the button that says join group and the organizer will review your profile and either accept or reject you. Hopefully accept of course. A good way to make sure you are accepted is to fill out your profile in details. Moms are big on security so it’s not about excluding people, just about making sure you are really a mom or dad and interested in joining the group.  To stay part of the group it’s good to be an active participant on the playgroup’s board, to interact with the members and to attend some real-world play date events. Every playgroup will have its own rules and terms so make sure to check them out as well.
 

How do I know if I’ve been approved for a playgroup

Check you’re my playgroup list on the left hand side of the screen and see if the playgroup you applied to has been added.
 

Can I ask my friends who haven’t been to the site yet, if they’d like to join?

Yes once you are in there is a button to send invites to your friends. Just put in their email addresses. Organizers can also invite people.

Can I host an event? Who do I talk to?

If you are the organizer of the playgroup, go ahead just fill in the event form. If you put in the exact address, the event location will find it in Google Maps for your users.
Set how many people can attend as well. If you need to edit events just go ahead and change it, the system will send out automatic notifications.
 

Can I upload pictures and attach them to an event?

Yes, the way to do that is to add a photo album to your profile and select the playgroup and event you would like it associated with.
 

Do I have to pay to use the playgroup organizer tools?

No, they are all FREE! This can be a big cost savings compared to other competitor group planning tools.  
 

Can I Use the Playgroup Organizer Tools for Other Groups Besides Playgroups?

These tools were built specifically with playgroups and classes in mind. Every group shows up in the playgroup finder tool in the zip code you designate. However, we currently do not have a policy in place that restricts other group types from using it. We are a family site so we would expect the groups to not be offensive and in the spirit of what was intended. We do reserve the right to remove any groups that are offensive, pornographic, illegal, that discriminate against people, or are unethical.  
 

Registering and You Account

Do I have to register? And why should I?

Can I add my own profile?

Yes, just upload your photo when you update your profile. You may have to resize the picture though.
 

Can I add my own pictures?

Absolutely. In your profile there’s a button to add photo albums. Not only that, you can attach them to events or playgroups. Instead of being expected to going back to an event and then uploading your photos from that event, just upload a photo and select the event from there. If you choose a playgroup, your images may appear on the homepage of that playgroup.  It always shows the ten most recent pictures associated with that playgroup.
 

Can I send personal messages to other people on the site?

Yes. Just click on the profile and send them a message. You can also friend a person and if they accept you, they will be added to your contact list.
 

Where do I find friends and how do I get them on my list?

You can invite friends to join using out invite friend tool in the playgroup. You can find friends who are talking in the community, and you can make friends through your playgroup.
 

Nickname Finder and Navigating the Site Channels

How do I add my own nicknames and make comments?

The nickname finder is a fun way to see all the possible nicknames that kids can come up with for your child’s name. Every name has one, so we figured we might as well give you a heads up as to what they might come up with for your child. When you look up a name, you’ll see real nicknames submitted by real people who have children with the same name as yours. But even better, they can add their own stories around the nickname or the name itself. It’s a fun way to share your experiences with other moms.

How come I don’t see my nickname comments on there yet?

For safety reasons, each comment and nickname, before it appears on the site, needs to be accepted by a real live administrator. We check several times a day so if you don’t see your nickname after you’ve posted it, check back in a few hours and it should be there. We know it would be easier to let it go and show up instantaneously, but to ensure that the only thing our members see, are real nicknames and comments, we scan them first. And offensive or bad content never then sees the light of day.
 

How Do I find an Article or information?

There are tons of ways to find articles on our site. We have articles on everything from starting a playgroup, to getting along in a playgroup, how kids learn in a playgroup to activities and craft ideas to do at your playgroup events or by yourself. This site was designed by moms who know what moms need and are looking for. That’s why you can find articles in a number of ways.  We break them down by both ages and stages. Moms know that sometimes you want to find an article about one year olds. Other times you are looking for something for a child that is walking. So we let you look up both. Click around our site and you’ll see very quickly where everything is. Oh and we also have quick search areas on each of our channels as well as general search on the site.
