An excellent way to teach responsibility

If you have a pet you have an excellent way to teach responsibility. Explain that pets need care and attention just like we do. Grooming is one way we show love. If you have a dog, put on some old clothes and give the dog a bath. If you have a cat, explain that cats keep themselves clean but occasionally enjoy a combing or brushing. Even hamsters and fish require special care. Helping with the feeding process is also a nice way to instill responsibility. Helping to feed will also help to make the child feel grown up and a very important part of the pet's care.
