Months Days of the Week
Just as adults need to know the days of the week and what month it is, so do children.

Description:
Understanding how people keep track of time helps give children a sense of security and orients them to a daily schedule. Obviously babies are unable to understand the concept of calendars, however, older children can.

Step by Step:
1. Buy your child a calendar and let her help pick it out.
2. Each morning, look at the calendar with your little one, and recite the month, day of the week, the date and talk about the weather.
3. Mark a specific date and time on the calendar each week when you and your child will have a play date.
4. Ask your child for suggestions on how you should spend your special time together.
5. Your child will soon look forward to this ritual and it will give him or her a sense of the world that surrounds him.
