Animals! Animals! Animals!

Dogs - cats - monkeys - horses - elephants - monkeys. Children love animals. Watch your child smile from ear to ear as he watches and tries to mimic the animals.Take a trip to a zoo, farm, or pet store to look at real animals. To save money, check with your local library to see if they have any family passes you might be able to sign out. You can also check out some library books before-hand on animals, to go through with your child. The pictures are always so neat. Don't forget to bring a camera to take lasting memories. And if you think you'd like to go several times a year, look into becoming a member. They usually come with great benefits for your family and friends.

Step-by-Step:
Point out those body parts that are unique to each animal: snouts, tails, fur, feathers.

  • Notice body parts that peole don't have such as an elephant's trunk or a kangaroo's pouch.
  • Ask your child to mimic the animals walk and the noises they make.
  • How is a fish different from a human boy or girl? How does that little fishy breath?
  • Learn about the different types of food the animals eat.
