Watching Him Grow Is the Greatest Gift
If I could change my life as a mother, I wouldn't. Loving this wonderful child and being loved by him, watching him, and helping him learn and grow are the greatest gift! There could never be enough hours in the day for me to be his mother.

Saturday Mornings In
On most Saturday mornings my husband gets up with our eight-month-old daughter to let me sleep in a little bit. Waking up at 7:30 IS sleeping in for my husband! So I get to sleep until 8:30 or sometimes even 9 AM! By then, he's already making breakfast and gotten our daughter changed and ready for the day. I love Saturday mornings!

Postpartum Help
When I had my first baby, I was so excited, I could hardly contain myself. Then, three days later, postpartum set in and I couldn’t look at a blank wall without bursting into tears. My fiancée had to leave town for two weeks almost immediately for work. I couldn’t stand it; All I could do was cry. The thing that got me through was that everyone … my sister, her husband, my dad and stepmother were all really supportive of the fact that I was a first-time mom all alone in a house with a newborn.
They came over all the time, let me nap at their homes or mine, and brought me anything I needed from the store. Don't think you need to know everything. Lean on family! That’s what they’re there for. If you need a nap, ask someone to watch your baby for an hour. If you need company, I’m sure no one would say no. And it’s perfectly OK to not know everything! My friends and family got me through one of the hardest times in my life! My daughter is almost one now, and I STILL have no problem asking for help when I really need it.

One Little Heartbeat Makes it All Worth it
The room was dark except for the cold blue glow from the ultrasound monitor. Struggling for five years with infertility had left me lifeless. Thump thump … thump thump. My son's heart beat! That was my mommy moment. Oh what joy!
