| No Avatar | I have a 14 month old daughter and I plan to nurse her until she becomes 2 years. I also want to try for the second baby soon(My husband insist on it!!!). I'm told it gets longer to get pregnant while I'm nursing. But I should wean when I get pregnant. I really don't want to wean, does any body have experience of being pregnant an nurse at the same time? |

| No Avatar | I am pregnant and am still am nursing my 21month old daughter. I didn't experiance any problems and know a couple of people that even nurse the older child even past the birth of the second one (tandem nursing). http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/8148/tandem.html If you would like to speak to somebody personaly you could find a La Leche League Leader or Group near you - that was very helpful to me. http://www.llli.org/WebUS.html Astrid. |

Hi, I became pregnant with number 2 when my son was 8 1/2 months old. Actually got pregnant quicker/easier WHILE breastfeeding. Go figure! I was advised to stop nursing by an older doctor but didn't and baby number two was absolutely fine. He weighed almost 2 pounds more than his brother and is thriving even as I continue to nurse both of them. Just drink plenty of water and eat a healthy diet.Extra sleep is always advised too, but not so easy when you already have a little one. Good luck! -Heather |
