| No Avatar | Samantha....how are you? I am Shaine and live in Palm Beach, Fl. I would recommend that you look up a playgroup comoany such as My Little Gym for her to play and be active. You can also make friends with other moms and it is lots of fun because at these places you can also throw your kids birthday parties and it offers a whole load of activities for them. Hope this helps and good luck....Shaine |

Wow, lots of views but not a lot of help. Sorry to hear that. Well, Yahoo! Groups has 134 mom's groups listed for Ohio. Here's the link: http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/dir/1600150852 You can check it out to see which ones are near you and hopefully at least one will work out for you. Also, try a site called Mamasource. They set up according to your community, so you'll probably find a playgroup via them. And if you don't find it listed in the reviews/listings, write a request for help finding or creating one in your area. Have you tried Cafe Mom? They are a site only for moms, with thousands of sub-groups per subject, interest, location, etc. I just searched for Hamilton, Ohio and found two for play groups. I'm sure you could find more as you have more details on what you're looking for. Or, you can search for moms within a certain distance of you. Then send them messages telling them you're looking to meet local moms and invite them to chat with you on the site until you feel comfortable meeting in a public place. Or you could invite them to join a group you're creating on Cafe Mom for playdates in your area. If they aren't interested they just won't reply. I did this when I started my own Yahoo mom's group and got a very favorable response from lots of moms in the same position of wanting to get playdates but didn't know how. (I now have over 70 moms in the group!) The Newcomers Club website has a section for area code 513. Follow this link for their list of groups in your area: http://www.newcomersclub.com/oh.html Also, check with your local library. In my area, they all offer free weekly events by age. Their websites should provide more details. Look for a local pre-school. A parent/tot program would be perfect for you, and if you find a cooperative program the costs should be very reasonable. Churches frequently host MOPS meetings, which stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. The International Moms Club is just about everywhere so they may have a local chapter you could join. Go to local parks, mall play areas, and kids venues like Chuck-E-Cheese or Pump It Up, and strike up conversations with other moms there. The more you search the net looking for moms groups and playgroups, the more options you'll find. Good luck! Denise |
