HI, my name is courtney. i was wondering if anyone else on here has endometerosis dont think i have spelled it right. Anyway we are sort of trying for another baby. We have one daughter now that is 19mo old. Before i got preganant with her i was diagnosied with the condition. I had to have a laproscopy that removed what they could see of the tissue that was blocking my tubes. Also after it was removed it helped with the pain i was having durring intercourse.

It is now coming back they say pregnancy can cure it or make it worse. I just wish the pain woudl go away. Im only 23 married incase anyone was wondering. My ob said that if the pain gets worse they will put me on pills that will put me in menapause this early. No thanks or all else they will give me a hysteroctomy.

dont want that either. I work two jobs to help save up for a house makes things a lil tuffer.

Does anyone else have this. If so how long did it take for u to get pregnant with baby #2 from the endo coming back and being off birth control for a while? Before i had alexis it took me 2 years.

thanks

courtney

I also had endometriosis.  I had the same surgery and report that my tubes were clogged and had to be cleared.  This was in 2002, my hsband and I were engaged at the time.  We were married in 2003 and decided to try to get pregnant right away.  We became pregnant 7 months later in May of 2004.  I was 23.  After my Daughter was born, wedecided on her first birthday that we wanted to try again however, I was having those HORRIBLE period pains again and you know the feeling...I was sure that my endometriosis was back.  Oddly enough, we tried anyway and on our second try we got pregnant!  I'm not a doctor, but I am a little shocked by what your doctor suggested...I hurt for you!  Have you thought about getting a second opinon because I had it pretty bad and that was never mentioned.  You at the beginning of your reproductive years! :)  My absolute best wishes you the two of you!  My heart goes out to you!

Hi!

When I was 21 I was diagnosed with endometriosis.  I was in so much pain that I could hardly stand.  I guess I had severe pain ever since the beginning of my periods, but the doctors never did anything about it except for perscribe me pain pills.

Finally in college I was in so much pain that the doctor there did an MRI on me and found what they thought was just a cyst that needed to be removed.  I was then booked in for a same day surgery, a laproscopy, as you know.  I woke up to discover that my simple sugery turnned into exploratory surgery because I had it so bad that my insides were basically fused together by scar tissue.  It had eaten through my bladder so much that I was lucky to be alive.  I wouldn't have been if I had waited much longer.  They had to remove part of my bladder and I was lucky enough that I did not have any damage done to my uterus or my ovaries.  They were a little out of place after surgery, but that's all.

They decided that the best course to take was to put me on the Lupron shot to put me into early metapause.  They gave me this shot I and two week later I showed up pregnant.  That was a huge un-planned surprise.  I had been married 2 years at that point, but did not have my degree yet.  Needless to say they had to correct the omitting of my hormones for the pregnancy to be healthy.  I was than going the opposite way with the hormones.

Since then I have had three more children.  My youngest being 11 months.  It took me about 5 months of trying to get pregnant with my second one.  After I stopped breastfeeding him, my periods starting coming in full force again and I started having that erie pain again.  I technically had 4 kids in 5 years. Now that I am done they are trying to figure out the best path for me to take.  I just want it to be over.  I actually opted for a histarectomy (spelling?), but they advised against this at my age(29).  They now want me to consider getting a Mirena implant.  This will make me not have my period for 5 years.  It is new and only selected doctrs are trained to do it.  I guess insurance companies just started covering it, but of course mine does not.  Go figure.  I have 1 month left of breast feeding to figure things out.  Otherwise it is back to periods and pain and infecting the rest of my body again.  What a fun disease!  My suggestion is to have your family while you can, because you may not get another chance.  Good luck!

No Avatar I, too have it. I tried the meds to push into early menopause and I was not happy, but pain free. I tried it twice for 6 months each and after round two we tried to get pregnant immediately and it worked. Keep your head up high and do what feels right emotionally. Good luck.

I was diagnosed with Endo in 2003. After having my 1st, of many surgeries, I found out at my 4 wk post op that I was PG. My daughter is now 3. When she was 1 I had to have a major surgery and have a tube and ovary removed because the endo had it so ate up. Anyway, shortly after that my husband and I decided we wanted one more kids before I had to everything removed. We tried for 8 months, temping, charting, and timing intercourse to help us along, and nothing. So, I went to my Dr and found that I had cyst on my ovary and told me he wanted to see me back in 4wks to check the size of it to see if surgery would be needed. Well, I went back to his office and found out I was PG with TWINS. I was in total shock, because I assumed that we would not be able to have anymore and here we were having 2.

My Dr told me as long as you have atleast one working ovary and a uterus you can have a child, it will just a little longer and more work. In my case he was right. I would say you need to get a second opinion, maybe go to someone who just haddles Endo and it's relsted issues that's what I did. Sorry you have to go through ths at such a young age, I've been in your shoes and know your pain. If you feel uncomfortable with any treatment your Dr wants you to have, get another opinion, a womans gut is never wrong.

Hi, I also had endometriosis, had two operations and took the menopause medication (it was ok).  Nothing worked so I had to try several different fertility treatments.  After a long battle to get pregnant (5 yrs), I now a healthy boy and my endometriosis is gone.  As you can see it's a horrible thing to be diagnosed with something that can possibly never go away, but everything's possible.  Good luck to you.
