Terrific Trip for Healthy Food
Learning to eat healthily begins as soon as we start eating.

Description:
Increasing the number of servings of fruits and vegetables we eat per day to 5 servings is an essential key toward better health and prevention of cancer. Once learned and practiced every day, healthy eating becomes a habit. The best way to learn about fruits and vegetables is to make friends with the folks at your local produce store or health food store. Teaching children about proper nutrition, from an early age, is a gift of love.

Step by Step:
Take your child on a trip to the grocery or health food store.
One by one look at all the beautiful fruits and vegetables.
If you aren’t familiar with a fruit or vegetable, ask the green grocer to tell you about it and how to prepare it.
Pick out a few of the fruits and vegetables to take home and make sure you pick one thatis not familiar to you.
Remember that a lot of vegetables don’t have to be cooked, just washed well, cut up and eaten.
When you get home, have a tasting feast!
