PAPER PLATE TURTLES - Aug 20th, 2007

Simple paper plates turn into turtles with a little finger paint, glue, and construction paper.

Step by Step:

  1. Cut a round shape for the head with a long neck, four rectangle shapes with points at one end for legs, and a small triangle for the tail out of brown construction paper.
  2. Let the child finger paint the bottom of two paper plates with brown and green finger-paint to make the turtle shell.
  3. Then glue the legs,tail and head to the proper places to the top of one paper plate (the unpainted side.
  4. Glue the top paper plate on to the other bottom side up so the painted side is on top.
  5. Name your turtle!
Materials:
Two paper plates
Brown construction paper
Scissors
Glue
Brown and green finger-paints
