Summer is here, and time in the pool means extra care for kids' hair.

Description:
Summertime means a lot of time spent in the pool.

While pool water is great for cooling off, it's damaging to hair. Repeated exposure can make hair dried out and brittle, so it is important to put conditioner on your child's hair daily to keep it in good shape.

Another problem is blonde hair turning green. Here?s a remedy that's fun and easy to do.

Step by Step:

Rinse your child's hair in tap water before he or she goes for a swim. This will help the hair absorb the molecules of fresh water before the chlorinated water touches it. Also, when you are finished swimming for the day, be sure to rinse and wash your child's hair as soon as possible.

Ketchup is another natural way to neutralize green hair. It may be messy, but the kids love this activity!

  1. Apply ketchup to your child's hair.
  2. Work it through with a wide-toothed comb or your fingers.
  3. Let your child have fun squishing ketchup through his or her hair.
  4. Leave the ketchup on for 20-30 minutes.
  5. Use your favorite shampoo and then rinse well using cold water.
  6. Repeat in a couple of days if necessary.
