Here's a way to learn shapes and colors too!!

Description:
Children love creating their very own room decorations. Making a mobile from different colors of construction paper, results in a great teaching tool. Children learn about different shapes, while developing their fine motor skills, learning to cut. This activity can be made at home, but is also a great activity for groups of children.

Step by Step:

  • Mommy, please draw different shapes (circle, square, rectangle and triangle) on various colors of construction paper.
  • With safety scissors have your little helper cut them out, while telling him the shape and color.
  • Help him poke a little hole in the top of each.
  • After stringing different lengths of yarn through them, tie them on to a wooden hanger and hang it up the mobile.
  • His teaching tool is complete! Now, which one is the triangle? What color is it? He got it right!!! All you have to add is - "You are such a good learner!, I am so very proud of you! (Add a great big hug and kiss!)

    Materials:
