A way to explain Ramadan & Enjoy Ramadan!

Description:
The new moon signals the beginning and end of Ramadan. Here we go, showing the changes of the moon during a month.

Step by Step:
1. Draw a circle on a piece of white construction paper.
2. Either you or if your child is old enough, cut out the circle (or let's call it a full moon.)
3. Slice the moon into 2 halves, then each half into 3 pieces.
4. Glue one section on the dark construction paper. Ah, there it is - the little crescent moon!
5. Every few days, possibly just before bedtime, check out the moon as it grows (just as your little one is doing each day.) Have your sweet "astrologist" add a piece until you have the full moon once again!
6. Since Ramadan begins and ends with the new moon, it lasts 29 or 30 days. Be sure to keep that in mind as you add the sections.
7. As a finishing touch, add some stick-on stars. Beautiful!

Materials:
Black (or dark blue) and white construction paper.
Safety scissors
Glue
Stick-on stars
