A little imagination and you and your child can create your very own snowstorm!

Description:
Snowflakes are one of the most beautiful creations in nature. This art activity provides an opportunity to learn about snowflakes and to make one. Though all are six-sided symmetrical crystals, no two are the same. As you make your folds and cuts, you'll discover limitless ways to make your own distinctive snowflakes. When you're finished, create a whole snowstorm by hanging them for the entire family to see.

Step by Step:
  1. Lay the plate or bowl upside down on the white paper. Help your child trace around the rim. Cut out the circle.
  2. Fold white paper circle in half and then in thirds.
  3. Cut the design of the snowflake. Use scissors to cut out small shapes but don't cut away all the folds or the snowflake will fall apart.
  4. Gently open the snowflake to see what kind of design you've created.
  5. Glue snowflakes onto the dark paper or string from the ceiling.
