Step by Step:
Materials:
Easel
Nontoxic water-based paints
Large white paper
Soft brushes and/or sponges cut into shapes
Smock
Newspaper or butcher paper
Plastic cups
Water

Step by Step:
- Set up art supplies (easel with paper, paint, a cup of water, paint brushes and sponges) in a contained area or outside.
- Spread newspapers around the area.
- Put a paint smock on your child.
- Suggest what to paint if your child needs inspiration.
- Try different techniques: use a toothbrush or sponge instead of a paintbrush, or splatter the paint instead of brushing.
- Hang painting to dry.
