Go visit a nature center. They exist in most local park systems, and usually feature a nature program for children.
Description:
Nature programs teach children about the local plant and animal life, ecosystems, and environmental concerns. Also, the Sierra Club, which has chapters around the country, sponsors family nature walks and other outdoor activities. Have fun!!!!
Step by Step:
1. Call or go online to your county or state park department to get a list of local nature centers.
2. Call the closest center and obtain information about their hours and programs and whether reservations are necessary
3. Schedule a date to take your children.

Sturdy shoes
Jackets and caps
water bottles
sun screen
