Puppets come in all shapes and sizes. Whether your baby prefers a soft furry puppet or a colorful felt one, he or she will be entranced by the way this toy can be brought to life with a flick of your wrist. Your little one will be especially enthralled when the puppet talks to, hugs, kisses, and touches him or her. The more you ham it up, the better!

Step by Step:

Put your baby on your lap or beside you, and put the puppet on your hand.

Sing songs, recite poems, or just say something funny while you make the puppet come to life.

Change the pitch of your voice for different characters or puppets. Experiment with different emotions. Pretend to make the puppet happy, sad, tired, or timid.

Watch your baby's face light up with laughter as you move the puppet from side to side and animate it with your hand.

Try moving the puppet up and down and in a circle to see if your baby can follow the movement.
