Step by Step:
Materials:
Cardboard or colored poster board
Glue
Hole puncher
Family photos
Yarn
Description:
In the first three months of life, babies absorb everything around them. When babies are awake, they spend every moment exploring and responding to their amazing environment. They are stimulated by vivid colors, bright patterns and various shapes. A great way to provide them with this type of stimulation is with pictures of family members.
Step by Step:
| 1. | You or baby's older sibling can pick out photos of various family members. |
| 2. | Help the older child glue the pictures onto a piece of cardboard or posterboard. |
| 3. | Punch a hole through each mounted picture, hold them together by threading a piece of colorful yarn through them. |
| 4. | Tie the picture book securely to the bars of the crib where your baby can see it, but not reach it. |
| 5. | Flip to a different picture and move the book to different places in the crib every few days. |
| 6. | Have your older child point to the pictures and name all of the family members for his younger sibling. |
