TEXTURE TOUCH TRAIL
Lots of textures for your little crawler to explore

Description:

As babies become more mobile, the world beckons to them. Touch is one of the key ways children explore and learn about their surroundings. Provide safe and interesting opportunities for discovery. As they explore the various textures on the TEXTURE TOUCH TRAIL, talk to them about the various textures they are feeling: smooth, rough, bumpy, soft, etc.

Step-by-Step:

    • Gather a variety of textured materials. Try carpet samples, plastic bubble wrap, rubber door mats, fake fur, artificial grass, brown paper bags, fleece, jute rugs, etc.
    • Lay the pieces down on the floor to form a path.
    • Tape in place with duct tape. Make sure to place tape over the edges where the pieces meet to eliminate sharp edges.
    • Place your baby on or near the trail. Encourage him or her to move down the path.
      • If there are several children, try putting them on different places on or near the path.

        Materials:
