Soothing Bedtime Rituals
Establish a bedtime routine and stick to it.

When it is time to put your baby to bed, don't let anything interrupt you. Adjust the lighting in the room so it isn't too bright. Make sure the temperature is comfortable. Hold your baby close as you go through the bedtime routine. Speak quietly and soothingly. Repeat the same gentle steps each evening, and it will be your baby's cue that it is time to settle down for the night.

Step-by-Step:
  1. Pick a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
  2. Hold your baby close.
  3. Read to your baby. Even if he can't understand you yet, he will love hearing the sound of your voice. Reading to your baby now also will help develop his listening and language skills later on.
  4. Sing a lullaby.
