Look at Our Beautiful 4th of July Cake!
Serve up stars and stripes for 4th of July dessert, and the neighborhood kids will feel like patriots.

All across America, on the 4th of July, families pause for a day to celebrate their freedom. After they march in, or watch, small parades to commemorate the founding of their country - and before they enjoy the fireworks - they sit down to indulge in a spectacular feast.

With a little planning and a lot of red, white and blue, it's easy to create a fabulous menu bursting with the colors of summer. And what could be a grander finale than your own beautiful flag cake?!

Step-by-Step:
    • Follow the directions on a box of white cake mix and bake in rectangular pan.
    • Cool and frost with white frosting.
    • In the upper left corner, use the blueberries to form the shape of a square
    • Place the strawberries in rows, with white space between each row, to make seven stripes across the cake.
    • Use the tip of a whipped-cream dispenser or piping bag to make little stars on the blueberries. 
Materials:
Rectangular cake pan
White cake mix and specified ingredients such as eggs and oil
White frosting
Blueberries and strawberries (Make sure the fruit has been thoroughly washed and completely dried before you place it on the frosted cake.)
Whipped cream
