IN AND OUT
IN AND OUT
Once babies learn how to put items in a container and take them out again, they will repeat this activity over and over.

Description:

Putting objects in and taking them out of containers is fascinating to babies as they are figuring out how the world works. Your baby will love to repeat this activity over and over. As you baby becomes older and develops his 'pincer grip' between 10 and 12 months old, you can modify this game to include smaller objects that are harder to pick up, such as Cheerios.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Place the cookie tin in front of your baby
  2. Take a variety of different toys and put them in the cookie tin compartments one at a time.
  3. Stop and observe your baby. Does your baby take them out?
  4. Demonstrate taking one toy out and putting it back again.
  5. Wait and watch. Does your baby try to put the toy back in?
  6. Try taking all of the toys out of the container.
  7. Watch and see what happens. Pretty soon your baby will be putting the items in and out of the container over and over.
