Happy Birthday Two-Year-Old
Keep it simple and both you and your two year old will love his birthday party.

Description:
Two year old birthday parties are wonderful because the children will be happy just to play, so they don't need organized games. Keep the numbers small - 2 to 5 children, and remember that kids of this age are still involved in parallel play (they play next to their friends rather than with them)
.

Make sure you invite the adults- they'll need to supervise their children. Remember to consider nap times and where in the potty training spectrum the guests are. Keep it simple and a good time will be had by all.

Step-by-Step:

Two-Year-Old Birthday Fun

    • Make your own invitations on paper your child has colored. You can include a picture of the birthday boy or girl.
    • Get several soft balls in a variety of sizes and colors; make sure there are enough for everyone to play with.
    • Set up an area with several colors of Play-Doh or home-made modeling dough
    • Put out lots of bubble blowing solution and wands. Get one of the adults to make both small bubbles and large ones the children can try to catch.
    • For lunch, serve mild cheese sandwiches or jelly sandwiches cut into fun shapes with cookie cutters. You can serve glasses of milk, each with a couple of drops of different color food coloring.
    • Make a simple vanilla cake frosted with whipped cream. Decorate it with animal crackers.
    • You may want to save the birthday presents for after the party. Too many gifts can be overwhelming, and the other two-year-olds may decide to grab the presents for themselves, causing lots of tears.
    • For party favors, fill colorful bags with inexpensive toys such as sunglasses, bracelets, plastic animals, etc.
