Learn to Make A Chick in an Egg
Open the egg and out comes a chick

Description:
Spring is the season when new life is born. Talk to your child about the oval shape of the egg, and discuss the creatures that hatch from eggs, such as ducks, chickens and other birds.

Step-by-Step:
  1. Fold white construction paper in half so that it opens like a book
  2. Cut the folded paper into an oval shape, leaving the folded edge attached so that when you unfold the page you have two attached ovals (eggs).
  3. Cut out yellow circles and smaller orange triangles.
  4. Glue a yellow circle to the inside of one of the ovals.
  5. Explain to the children that eggs are oval shaped. Talk to the children about how baby chickens grow inside the egg.
  6. Next, glue on an orange beak, draw a face with crayons and decorate the baby chick with feathers.
  7. Close the egg. When you re-open it, a baby chick will be waiting inside.
