Remember those long road trips with your little brother taking up the whole backseat. Maybe the air conditioning was working, maybe it wasn't? We didn't have DVD players dropping down from the ceilings or electronic hand-held games. No those were invented by the people who lived through the backseat-with-your-little-brother road trips.
But we all got through it. We found fun creative ways to distract ourselves until we got to whatever tourist destination we were going to. Here's a reminder of how it's played: Pick a color. Call out when a car comes along with the same color paint job. Have your toddler answer questions such as: what shapes does she see on the car? How many people are in the car? If you want to get fancy, ask for other criteria such as make, model, whether it's a new car or an old car, etc. Of course, there's the more physical version. If you've ever been the victim of "punch buggy" you know what we mean. But we will leave that for another day. Have fun!
