Act Out a Story
Teach your child how to tell a story!

Directions:
Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of communication. It is still used by many cultures as the main means of passing down traditional stories from one generation to the next.

Tell a story to your child being as expressive as possible. Use different voices, body postures, and facial expressions to represent the different characters, and to convey the emotional content of the plot! Now it's your child's turn to tell a story, preferably one he or she knows very well.

Encourage your little one to ham it up, and don't forget to be an appreciate audience!

Step-by-Step:
    • Pick out a story you think your child would love to hear.
    • Act it out being as expressive as possible. Use different voices, body postures, and facial expressions to represent the different characters and to convey the emotional content of the plot.
    • Ask your child to tell a story, preferably one he or she knows very well. Encourage your little one to ham it up, and don't forget to be an appreciative audience!
