King or Queen for the Day
Let's play queen or king for a day! Explain that our President is the leader of America. However other nations have a Queen or a King. Your child is about to claim her or his thrown to the "Magical Land of Let's Pretend."

Step-by-Step:
1. Cut yellow construction paper into a wide strip.
2. Leave one of the long edges straight. Cut the other edge into pointy peaks.
3. Time for your toddler to decorate it with crayons.
4. Add glue and sparkly glitter.
5. Staple or tape the ends together to fit your toddler's head.
6. The finishing touch is a pillow case for a cape and a long wooden spoon for a scepter. How regal is that?!!!
7. Name some countries such as England, Spain and Sweden. Using a globe or a map go on a exploration trip together to find them. (Perhaps you can include the country of the family's origin.)
8. Curtsy as your little Queen or King marches by with cape and scepter in hand to assume the throne at the dinner table where the "celebration feast" awaits.
