Copy Cats - Oct 14th
One of the ways children learn is through mimickry
Description:
Children start to copy their parents at a young age. They pretend to cook or wash the dishes, they repeat some of the phrases they hear adults say, and they play dress-up, pretending to me a mommy or a daddy. Your baby is not quite there yet, but this simple activity is a great warm-up!
Step by Step:
- Position yourself approximately 8-12 inches away from your baby.
- Make funny faces. Encourage your child to imitate your facial expressions.
- Repeat the sounds your baby makes.
- Add sounds of your own (blow raspberries, hum, buzz, whistle etc.). Encourage your child to do the same.
